As a new administrative year turned at the beginning of 2021, the MinTVET Board fulfilled its duty and responsibility under the By-Laws to hold an election for its new set of officers. The election of Board officers was conducted on February 6, 2021.
Dr. Bonifacio E. Valdez was elected as the new President of the Mindanao Technical-Vocational Association, Inc. to assume a 2-year term of office effective February 7, 2021 and to end on December 30, 2022. Valdez served as Vice-President for Internal Affairs for Adm Year 2020 and in accordance with the Association’s new By-Laws was confirmed as President for 2021.
Valdez is a Doctor of Medicine (Anesthesiologist), a Registered (PRC) Nurse, and a Registered Midwife (RM), by profession. Currently, he is the President and Chairman of the Board of the VMC Asian College Foundation, Inc. of Tacurong City, Maguindanao, South Cotabato and President Quirino branches. In line with his profession in the field of Medicine, Valdez is a FELLOW Anesthesiologist Center Western Pacific, a DIPLOMATE of the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialist (1st Placer Diplomate Board Exam), a FELLOW International Academy of Medical Specialist and a CERTIFIED FAMILY PHYSICIAN Philippine Academy of Family Physicians.
In the field of education, Valdez holds a doctorate degree in Philosophy major in Educational Management. He is also a Master of Arts in Nursing major in Administration and Supervision, a Master’s in Management major in Public Management.
His experience, expertise and leadership in technical-vocational education and training (TVET) is robust as shown in his being Chairman of the Regional Technical Educational Skills Development Committee (RTESDC) of Region IX and current President of the Association of Private Technical Institution of Region-12 (APTIRe-12) and President of the Sultan Kudarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. He also served as Vice-President of the Association of Higher Education Institution in Region XII (AHEIR) and the Past President of the Sultan Kudarat Association of Private and Public Technical Institution (SKAPPTI). In his involvement with the community in socio-civic associations, Dr. Valdez has served as Board of Trustees member and Past Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross Sultan Kudarat Chapter and Past Assistant District Governor and President of the Rotary International District 3870.
Valdez has served as MinTVET Board member in 2012-14 and was re-elected back to the Board in 2019.
