About Us
The Mindanao Technical-Vocational Association, Inc. (now popularly known as MinTVET), is the biggest and the only Mindanao-wide Association of Technical-Vocational Education and Training Institutions leading the TVET sector in Mindanao in capability-building, advocacy, resource generation, evaluation and other services. Founded and formally organized on December 7, 2001, MinTVET is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as per SEC Registration No. D200101297, as “a dynamic facilitator in advocating QUALITY TVET to enable Mindanao TVET Institutions develop middle-level skilled workers and realize their socio-economic potentials.” It sought to promote market-oriented technical vocational education and training to increase productivity and global competitiveness of Mindanao human resource and industries.

Programs / Projects
Capability-Building Program
MinTVET’s capability-building program has been institutionalized for the past ten (10) years as one of the banner programs of the Association, focusing on the continuous upgrading of competencies and upskilling of TVET administrators, trainers, and student-trainees. Currently, MinTVET embarks on upgrading of qualifications for TVET Administrators in five (5) units of competencies delivered in five (5) tracks, namely: (1) Planning and Supervision of TVET programs, (2) Leading and managing in TVET curriculum development (with Linking and Partnerships with Industries, (3) Leading and Managing Change in TVET, (4) Establishing support system for TVET innovation, (5) Managing human resources, and (6) Managing financial requirements for TVET programs, leading to an Industry Certification of MinTVET. It has likewise provided training-workshops for TVET Trainers of Mindanao, Philippines such as in developing training curriculum, developing competency assessment tools, trainers’ training on technopreneurship, and others.
Advocacy and Information
MinTVET spearheads the annual holding of the Human Resource and Skills Development (HRSD) Conference in partnership and collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the six (6) administrative regions of Mindanao, Philippines: Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula), Region X (Norther Mindanao), Region XI (Davao Region), Region XII (SOCCKSARGEN), Region XIII (CARAGA Region) and ARMM (Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao). Advocacy for policy reforms and TVET development for Mindanao are crafted through Resolutions and declarations during each HRSD Summit and submitted to TESDA for consideration.
Membership
Membership in MinTVET shall be open to all city/municipal, provincial and regional TVET Associations and to all public and private TVET Institutions (TVIs) or Training Providers, whose vocational or technical and skills development programs are duly registered with the Technical Skills and Development Authority where such Association or Institution may be located or operating within the regions of Mindanao, Philippines. Membership in MinTVET shall be by application, by invitation or referred by a current member in good standing, to be duly screened by the Membership Committee and approved by the majority vote of the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications of Members
The following shall be qualified to be members of the Association:
- TVET Associations duly organized under the laws of the Republic and existing and operating within the different Regions of Mindanao, Philippines are legible for membership, regardless of whether the Association is categorized as a City or Municipality, Provincial or Regional Association, or regardless whether the Association is composed of both or exclusively that of public or private sectors.
- TVET Institutions or schools duly existing and organized under the laws of the Republic operating as a technical-vocational education and Training Institution with programs registered and accredited by TESDA, regardless of whether or not they are members of a local, provincial, or regional TVET Association.
Application of Membership
Types of Membership
Membership to the Association shall be classified as follows:
REGULAR MEMBERS – In accordance with the preceding section, there shall be two types of Regular Membership in MinTVET:
- ASSOCIATION – TVET Associations duly organized under the laws of the Republic and existing and operating within the different Regions of Mindanao, Philippines are legible for membership, regardless of whether the Association is categorized as a City or Municipality, Provincial or Regional Association, or regardless whether the Association is composed of both or exclusively that of public or private sectors.
- INSTITUTION – Private TVET Institutions or schools duly existing and organized under the laws of the Republic operating as a technical-vocational education and Training Institution with programs registered and accredited by TESDA, regardless of whether or not they are members of a local, provincial, or regional TVET Association.
HONORARY MEMBERS – Any individual, agency or Institution, who have significantly contributed to the achievement of the goals of MinTVET and the pursuit of goals of technical-vocational education and training may be conferred HONORARY membership, upon approval of majority of the members of the Board. Honorary Members do not have the right to vote.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS – Any Industry group or association who are directly or indirectly involved in technical-vocation education and training as TVET partners, or otherwise, may apply for membership to the Association as ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. Associate Members do not have the right to vote.
